Things To Do Before You Say Farewell!

While we’re always sad to see you go, there comes a time in every renter’s life when it’s simply time to move on. Whether you’ve secured space for your stuff, you’ve found a buyer for your inventory, you’ve returned from a vacation, or you’re hauling out your dormant supplies for another season of fun, it’s finally time to say goodbye to Centron Storage and reclaim your goods. Don’t worry—we promise not to choke up.

While we’re always grateful that you’ve made the smart choice and rented with the best storage facility in North York, there are a few things to keep in mind when you’re leaving. Follow our easy and common sense steps and you’ll be off to greener pastures in no time, and hassle free!

To fulfill your end of the bargain, we’ve got a Notice to Vacate Form conveniently located on our website, which can be downloaded as a PDF, printed, filled in, and delivered to our front desk. This forms states that you need to let us know that you’ll be leaving your storage space at least seven days in advance of your departure (if a billing cycle is coming to a close, you can also use that date as a deadline to give us proper notice).

We expect you to remove all items from your unit; please don’t leave anything behind (even as a gift). While anything left behind at a storage facility typically becomes the property of the company, we’d prefer not to have to deal with garbage or forgotten items.

Give the floor a decent sweep, and practice good manners by returning the unit to the state in which you found it. There’s no need to mop or bleach the floors unless something’s leaked or caused a stain from your belongings, in which case we’d like you to tidy it up. If you need some extra supplies from our office, we can give you a hand.

We also need you to take your own lock with you, even if you don’t need it anymore. If the lock is still on the unit, it looks as though it’s occupied, and you don’t want to accrue bills for unused space. We’ll also have to cut it off, which carries a charge.

Once you’re finished cleaning out the storage space, please drop by our front desk to inform our staff that you’ve completed your clean out and you’re ready to go. We’ll perform a brief inspection to ensure everything is copacetic before wishing you happy trails.
